Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac/Neuro Med/Surg position requiring a MA license and high proficiency with cardiac and neuro patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Cardiac/Neuro Med/Surg unit
• Patient population includes both cardiac and neurological cases; straight Med/Surg experience is not sufficient
• Telemedicine and cardiac/neurological monitoring are integral to this unit
• Use of Meditech Expanse EMR is strongly preferred
• Floating to other units as required
• Block scheduling is not permitted
• Travelers are required to work two major holidays, including assigned weekends or Fridays
• Care for patients with complex cardiac and neurological diagnoses in an acute care setting
• No requests for specific scheduling or RTO will be considered after offer; any/all RTO must be disclosed prior to consideration
• No contract extensions ending in November or before end of holiday season will transition to the following calendar year
• Scrubs/dress code not specified
• Travelers must include permanent address and required certifications at time of consideration

Requirements

• Active MA RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 4 years of recent experience in Med/Surg with a focus on cardiac and neuro patients
• Tele experience and completion of a basic dysrhythmia course are required
• Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS must be provided
• High proficiency in caring for cardiac and neuro patients as demonstrated by a skills checklist
• Must have own vehicle for assignment
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
