Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shifts at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 3 years of L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 7 labor beds, 3 triage beds, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby beds
• Care provided to adult women of childbearing age
• Patient ratio is 1:1 for Labor & Delivery care
• Night shift schedules are available as 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Weekend work is required unless otherwise indicated in the posted schedule
• Floating within hospital required, but not to sister hospitals
• Charting is done using Epic; prior Epic experience preferred but not required
• Scrub color is flexible, and scrubs are provided for OR personnel
• Responsibilities include providing care for labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum patients
• Experience in teaching hospital and trauma hospital settings is preferred
• Applicants must be able to work holidays and cannot request time off during orientation week
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates; there is no mile radius restriction
• Maximum of one week of requested time off (RTO), with additional restrictions during orientation
• The hospital holds both Magnet and Level 4 Trauma Center designations

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have at least 3 years of L&D experience
• Certifications required: BLS and NRP; AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required without exceptions
• Must provide two professional references, license verification, and copies of certifications
• Prior staff may only return if separated for at least 18 months
