Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for nights with a minimum of 3 years L&D experience and current BLS and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital's Labor and Delivery unit with responsibility for adult women of childbearing age
• Unit includes 7 labor beds, 3 triage rooms, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby beds
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Night shift schedule, either 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts available
• Weekend shifts are required unless otherwise posted
• No on-call requirement
• Floating within the hospital may be required, but not to other hospitals
• Charting is done with Epic; prior experience is preferred but not required
• Care for patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Must be willing to float within L&D and mother-baby areas as needed
• Orientation week requests for time off will not be approved
• Maximum of one week of requested time off during assignment
• Holiday coverage is required during the contract
• Scrub color is flexible; scrubs are provided for OR cases
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates as travelers

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of application
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification is preferred
• Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted only with a minimum of 3 years L&D experience
• Magnet, teaching, and Level 4 trauma experience is preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster are required without exception
• Must not be a former staff member who left the facility less than 18 months ago
