Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position with orthopedic and general surgical cases, requiring a GA or compact license and two years' Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
• Care for patients with diagnoses including orthopedic, bariatric, renal, abdominal pain, CHF exacerbations, and post-surgical cases
• Day shift, 3x12 hours per week, 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• No call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Must be available to work assigned holidays during the contract period per facility holiday policy
• Modules are completed during orientation and are non-billable
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
• Return travelers must successfully complete an assignment outside of Piedmont before returning if previously unable to return
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time-off is allowed, none permitted during first week
• Full compliance is required to start on time; delays result in a two-week push due to bi-weekly orientation

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Unit accepts first time travelers
• Must have two supervisory references from managers or above
• Must have all compliance documents ready prior to start; core items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing contract
• Perm or PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year before returning as traveler
