Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with EPIC proficiency and at least two years of recent ER experience for night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital
- Typical patient ratio is 1:4
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Weekend shifts are required as needed
- Block scheduling is available
- No on-call requirements
- Epic charting system is used and prior experience with Epic is required
- Scrubs are provided and any color is acceptable
- No floating within the facility, but floating to nearby sister facilities may be required
- Travelers must be willing to float to sister facilities in the region as needed
- Holiday coverage is required; must commit to working at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Pre-assignment learning modules are required and must be completed before the start date
- All time off requests or scheduling requirements must be declared during application
- Free parking is available at the facility
Requirements
- Active OR RN license or proof of application for license
- Minimum of two years of recent Emergency Room RN experience required
- Prior experience with Epic EMR system required
- References from two supervisory nurses covering at least one year within the past three years are required
- Must have a personal vehicle for assignment
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility for travel pay eligibility
- Former permanent staff must be separated from facility employment for at least three months before returning as a traveler
