Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with night shifts and floating responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios may be up to 1:7 when floated to Med-Surg
• Night shifts available with options for 3x12 or 4x12 schedules, shift times 18:30 – 07:00
• Rotating weekends and holidays are required
• No call required
• Floating to other units is expected
• Role includes participation in supporting and mentoring nursing students as part of the clinical team
• General orientation is held on Sundays, including online assignments and in-person education
• Modules are completed during orientation and recorded electronically
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday coverage is required as assigned

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must live at least 100 miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates not accepted
• Must be able to complete drug testing 12-14 days prior to start and repeat if necessary
• Willingness to trim or remove facial hair for fit testing as per CDC guidelines
