Job Description

American Traveler seeks a skilled RN for a Stepdown position specializing in telemetry and IV starts, requiring an active IN or compact RN license and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Stepdown Unit of a short-term acute care hospital with a Level III Trauma designation
• Patient ratios are 1:4-5 in the Stepdown Unit
• Patient population involves telemetry monitoring and IV starts
• Uses Cerner EMR; experience with Cerner is required
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• Required to work one holiday per 13-week assignment
• Floating may be required to medical-surgical units or affiliate hospitals based on census
• Expected to complete up to 8 hours of online modules prior to starting the assignment
• Professional conduct is strictly enforced; contract may be terminated for compliance violations
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• No call responsibility required
• Return staff must have a minimum 3-year gap before reapplying as a traveler
• Parking is provided at no cost
• RTO requests considered per contract, with a maximum of 10 days allowed
• Modules must be completed within one week of assignment acceptance

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license; pending licenses accepted if active by start date
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Recent experience with telemetry and IV start skills required
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
