Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a MD or compact license and the ability to float within specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Assignment includes working every other weekend
• Holidays are required as they fall, according to the unit's schedule
• Requires floating within the specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Responsibilities include caring for Med/Surg Telemetry patients and floating as needed
• Holiday coverage is assigned per unit practices and may include major holidays
• Scrub requirements and dress code will be provided on assignment
• Testing and orientation modules are required before starting the assignment
• Return travelers must have been away at least 6 months from the system, and former staff must be gone for at least 12 months
• Approved time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application and cannot be changed after offer
• Block schedule or other scheduling restrictions cannot be requested
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent MS/Tele experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI; BLS/ACLS must be from the American Heart Association
• Two satisfactory professional references from the most recent employers, including at least one supervisor/manager or charge RN
• Candidates must reside 50 miles or more from the hospital
• Candidates must be comfortable floating without restrictions within their scope
