Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring an active IL RN license, Epic charting proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital Med/Surg unit specializing in respiratory and complex medical cases
- Night shifts from 7pm to 7am, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Care for a diverse adult patient population
- Utilizes Epic EMR system for all documentation
- Floating requirements are not specified
- Responsible for comprehensive patient care using the nursing process and established care plans
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation for effective patient care integration
- Implements and adjusts care interventions according to continuous patient assessment
- Participation in teamwork and communication is expected for optimal patient outcomes
- Required to comply with departmental competencies and institutional philosophy
- Cannot be assigned to Carle Health for more than 1 year without a 6-month break before returning
- RTO not to exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
- Must provide 30 days advance notice to cancel an assignment after it has started
- First time travelers are not specified and travel partners are not accepted
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing or temporary license
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience required, three years preferred
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma environment is required
- Epic charting experience is required
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
