Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down position requiring strong cardiac experience and WI or compact RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit
• Cares for post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-cath, pacemaker, defibrillator, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow patients
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4 in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Uses Epic EMR with preference for recent experience
• 12-hour day shifts from 0700-1930
• Float required to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• No on-call or call back requirements outside of low census periods
• Responsibilities include independent patient management and timely task completion in a dynamic environment
• Must be able to adapt to change and work both independently and within a team
• Scrub colors may be any color
• Eligible for up to 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential for call-back pay if called in
• Guaranteed set weekly hours except during orientation or holiday weeks when the unit is closed
• Candidates should possess strong resilience, adaptability, and social skills

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass an EKG test during the first week of employment
• Minimum of 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU) and 2 years IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel assignment completion required
• At least 1 year of recent Epic charting experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
