Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL RN license and mandatory float to various ICU settings.

Responsibilities

  • Work in multiple ICU units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
  • Mandatory floating between ICU units, and to med-surg units as needed
  • Level 1 Trauma Center hospital environment
  • Schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Required to work every other weekend (two weekends per month)
  • First week of orientation and precepting occurs on day shift
  • Uses Cerner charting system
  • Strict RTO policy: maximum of 5 days off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekend RTO, and no RTO on or adjacent to holidays
  • Proof of COVID vaccine required; boosters not required
  • Scrub color is navy blue and scrubs are not provided
  • All staff are required to float between units and could be requested to float to other facilities within a 50-mile range
  • Orientation includes team-based support when floated outside of primary competency area
  • Candidates must complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
  • Compliance with documentation deadlines required before orientation

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU acute care experience required
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Must reside within 75 miles of the facility to be considered local

I like floating to different departments so working una variety of settings was a big plus

The parking, I feel they should provide an ability for travelers to pay for parking per month even if at a slightly higher cost compared to staff
