Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active Illinois license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification for night shifts with mandatory floating.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting across various ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend required, totaling 2 weekends per month
• Mandatory floating between multiple ICU units and may float to MS units as needed
• Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Uses Cerner EMR system; prior Cerner experience is preferred
• First week will include day shift orientation and a precepting shift
• Must comply with strict floating policies and may be assigned to facilities within a 50-mile radius
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests allowed
• Maximum of 5 days RTO, with no more than 2 consecutive days off; no RTO approved on weekends or around holidays
• Navy blue scrubs required and not provided by hospital
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of assignment acceptance
• Team-based model used if floated outside primary competency area
• Compliance deadlines must be met prior to orientation

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• COVID vaccination required prior to start; booster not required
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility to be considered local
