Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position in Massachusetts requiring an active MA RN license and strong telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool covering medical-surgical and telemetry units
• 12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage required
• Expected to float to similar units and overflow areas as needed
• Assignment duration is 7-8 weeks
• No local candidates permitted; applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Biweekly orientation sessions provided
• Participation in professional development activities is documented and expected
• Main responsibilities include providing comprehensive care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients and adapting to different units as needed
• First time travelers may apply if all requirements are met
• Scrub or dress code details not specified; expect standard hospital attire

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand is required
• At least 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass Telemetry Competency Exam and ECG/Telemetry and Medication tests prior to assignment with a minimum score of 85%; one attempt only
• Knowledge of critical paths and prior charge nurse experience is preferred
• COVID vaccine and booster, as well as flu vaccine, required (medical exemptions allowed)
• All previous employees must have a 6-month break before returning to work at the facility
