Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a MA RN license and the ability to float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool covering both Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Patient ratios are 5:1 (7a-11p) and 6:1 (11p-7a) for Med/Surg, and 4:1 (7a-11p) and 5:1 (11p-7a) for Telemetry
• Shifts are 12 hours, rotating between days (7a-7p) and nights (7p-7a)
• Self scheduling is available but travelers are scheduled based on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Role involves floating between Med/Surg and Telemetry patient populations
• Medications and telemetry monitoring are part of daily responsibilities
• Must provide own documentation for consideration, including licenses and vaccination records
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotation
• Accommodation for special schedule requests may be possible depending on unit needs
• Self-scheduling is offered, but final schedules are adjusted by unit to fill coverage gaps

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Required certifications must be current and provided
• Must be able to pass both Tele/ECG and Medication testing
• COVID vaccine and booster, and flu vaccination are required unless medical exemption is provided
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• All previous employees must have a 6-month break from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility before returning
