Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with Alaska licensure and Home Health experience for a community-based home health assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Home health setting with a community-based patient population
  • Care is provided in patients’ homes, with an office located on campus
  • Day shifts with options for either 4x10 or 5x8 hour schedules, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 and 18:00
  • No weekend, on-call, or holiday shifts required
  • May be required to float to hospice units if needed
  • Average daily census of 26 patients with cases including COPD, CHF, joint replacements, and neurologic diseases
  • Requires a reliable vehicle for community visits
  • Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing plans of care, and implementing treatments in accordance with patient needs
  • Position may include oversight and mentoring of therapy assistants, students, aides, and volunteers
  • Involves collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Documentation must meet regulatory, licensure, and professional standards
  • Candidates must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Return staff must have a one-year separation from previous employment
  • Reference requirements include two recent professional references, one from a supervisor

Requirements

  • Active Alaska PT license required (compact PT allowed)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of Home Health experience or OASIS experience required
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills required
  • Must be fully vaccinated (booster not required)
  • May consider first-time travelers if OASIS experience is met
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted
  • License required if applicable
