Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in California, requiring a current CA RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
Care for a diverse population of laboring mothers and newborns
Night shifts available (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00)
Floating required within hospital units and to affiliated mother baby and nearby hospitals
Epic EMR is used for charting and documentation
Weekend coverage required based on contract length
Must be flexible to work weekends according to unit needs
Expected to float between all facilities within the state as necessary
Returning staff are eligible after a 3-month break from previous employment at the facility
Must commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Scrub color is flexible; any color is acceptable
Free parking is provided
Completion of non-billable online modules is required prior to start and annually thereafter
References: Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years are required for consideration
All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; post-submittal time-off requests may not be accommodated

Requirements

Active CA RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
Minimum of 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and AWHONN Advanced
Precepting skills preferred
Epic charting experience required
First-time travelers accepted
Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility for travel assignment eligibility
Pending licenses are not accepted
