Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IR PACU position requiring phase 1 recovery, pediatric patient care, and ICU background.

Responsibilities

• Work in the IR PACU of a hospital setting
• Care provided for both pediatric and adult patients requiring phase 1 recovery
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week with varied start times of 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, or 8:00 AM based on unit needs
• On-call required with response time of one hour, including weekday overnight call and split weekend shifts
• Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Team is responsible for recovering IR PACU patients, including transfers to the main PACU after 8 PM
• IR PACU team follows transferred patients to the main PACU when necessary
• Holiday coverage and late stays (3-4 per 6 week period) may be required
• Annual and specialty-specific modules must be completed during orientation
• Must be gone at least 90 days to return as a traveler if previously employed
• Previous employment at the facility must be declared for eligibility review
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU required
• At least 1 year of ICU experience required
• IR PACU experience with phase 1 recovery required
• Experience caring for pediatric patients required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; PALS required prior to start but not at time of consideration
• No license hits permitted for this position
• Must provide one reference from a charge nurse or supervisor for consideration
• Candidates must not reside within 75 miles of the facility
