Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for evening shifts, requiring ARDMS or ARRT(S), BLS, and experience with ER, ICU, Peds, and portable exams.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in an academic medical center within the general ultrasound department
  • Work with diverse patient populations including ER, ICU, pediatrics, and PICU
  • Operate GE ultrasound machines and utilize PACS for imaging records
  • 5x8 hour evening shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
  • Rotating on-call after 11:30 PM and rotating weekend 24-hour on-call coverage
  • Use Epic EMR; experience with Epic is required
  • Local travelers not accepted; must reside more than 65 miles from facility
  • Will perform a variety of general ultrasound procedures in multiple clinical settings
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
  • 5-day orientation provided; modules completed during orientation
  • Must be separated from facility as staff or in-house agency for at least 1 year before returning as traveler
  • Must discuss all requested time off (RTO) during interview
  • References from two managers or supervisors will be required to obtain clearance to start
  • Scrub or dress code policy will be provided during orientation

Requirements

  • Current ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
  • BLS certification from AHA required
  • At least 2 years of recent ultrasound experience
  • Experience performing scans in ER, ICU, pediatrics, PICU, and portables required
  • Proficiency with GE ultrasound equipment and PACS system required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • License required if applicable
  • Compact or Louisiana licensure in hand or proof of Allied Health license application within 72 hours of signing
