Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health assignment with weekday shifts, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Home health setting serving geriatric and middle-aged patients with no pediatric cases
• Daily caseload of 5-6 patient units
• Patient diagnoses include orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, pulmonary, diabetes, and other conditions
• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with coverage approximately every 6th weekend and 2 holidays
• No on-call or floating to other facilities required
• Epic EMR is used for charting and Epic experience is required
• Responsibilities focus on providing quality patient-centered care and developing patient care goals
• No pediatric patients are served in this position
• Participation in a multidisciplinary team including other therapists and clinicians
• Orientation provided with a preceptor
• Scrubs are provided as the required attire
• Parking is available at the office
• No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, with no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered after interview
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

Requirements

• Active state Physical Therapist license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• Minimum of 1 year of recent physical therapy experience in a relevant setting
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience using Epic EMR required
• Strong case management, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to supervise PTAs and work independently
• References from supervisors within the past 2 years preferred
• Eligible candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• No pending licenses accepted in Illinois; Missouri allows submission with pending license if requirements are met
