Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a NY RN license, strong critical care background, and flexibility to float to PCU as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 16-bed ICU in a hospital environment with potential overflow into an adjacent 6-bed area
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with life-threatening conditions requiring complex critical care interventions
• Private patient rooms equipped for invasive pressure, continuous cardiac, and oximetry monitoring
• Staffed with a covering case manager seven days a week to support patients and families
• Uses EPIC for charting, with Cerner experience strongly preferred
• Shifts are 06:45 AM to 07:15 PM with every other weekend and holiday required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to PCU required as needed
• Provide intensive nursing care and monitoring for critically ill adults and geriatric patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including daily case management support
• Family conference room available for meetings with care teams
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local caregivers within 50 miles are eligible for this position
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 5 shifts per contract
• Holiday and every other weekend coverage is required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 4 years nursing experience with at least 2.5 years in critical care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Completion of de-escalation training such as Welle, CPI, or PMCS
• Experience with EPIC required; Cerner experience strongly preferred
• COVID and flu vaccination required unless valid religious or medical documentation provided
• Candidates who worked as staff at this facility within the past year, or full-time in the AMC network within the past six months, will not be considered
