Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position with a day shift schedule and at least one year of recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute orthopedic medical-surgical unit
• Hospital setting with orthopedic patient population
• Day shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need
• May be required to be on-call during regularly scheduled shifts
• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care specific to orthopedic patients
• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions as defined by state standards
• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the employing organization
• May be required to provide health teaching, counseling, and therapy to ensure patient well-being

Requirements

• Active MT or compact RN license required
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with at least an ASN
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Orthopedics required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• No pending licensure; license must be in hand for consideration
• Epic EMR experience preferred
