Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN with active FL or compact license and EPIC experience for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Requires working three 12-hour day shifts (7:00 to 19:00)
• Every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period required, based on unit needs
• Floats required to other units or locations within the health system
• No on-call responsibility
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Main responsibilities include providing telemetry and progressive care to PCU patients
• Flu vaccine required from October 31 to March 31, with only medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Free parking provided with a decal given at orientation
• Scrubs of any single color without logos or prints are required; mixing colors is not permitted
• Must be available to complete lab work within 72 hours of signing
• Online modules must be completed during orientation and annually
• Travel pairs may be accepted but identical schedules are not guaranteed
• Staff and former contracted travelers must wait one year after leaving an internal position to be eligible
• No radius rule applies; local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU RN experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Two references from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director from within the last year required
• First-time travelers not accepted
