Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring peds and cardiac ICU experience, NE or compact RN license, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a hospital setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:00)
• Unit has 32 beds with an average daily census of 21 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Patient population includes post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac cases, heart transplant, and heart failure
• Unit utilizes invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA) and cares for patients on ECMO and CRRT
• Care involves management of vasopressors, cardiac drips, and sedation drips
• Role involves managing critically ill pediatric cardiac patients on advanced life support and monitoring
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates within a 100-mile radius are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration

Requirements

• Active NE or compact RN license
• At least 2 years of pediatric and cardiac ICU nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• Experience with invasive cardiac monitoring, ECMO, and CRRT preferred
