Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Alaska requiring an active AK RN license and three years of Med-Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Med/Surg unit of a hospital
• Unit has 31 beds
• 12-hour day shifts
• No floating to other units or departments is required
• Uses Meditech, OBIX, and Pyxis Supply Stations
• Scrubs are provided as dress code
• Responsibilities include providing individualized nursing care using nursing process and primary nursing principles
• Meditech and OBIX training provided, with a three-day orientation plus unit-specific orientation
• Medication Testing must be completed on site within the first two weeks
• On-call responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg experience required
• Current BLS and HS AED certifications required
• Strong critical thinking skills necessary
