Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring proficiency with cardiac drips and an active AL or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit with ortho focus and occasional MS/tele overflow
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6 or 1:7
• Day shifts available as 3x12 or 4x12 (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Block scheduling may be accommodated
• Must be willing to work with overflow tele patients requiring cardiac drips
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Position may require caring for both ortho and telemetry overflow patients
• Team environment with potential support for first-time travelers
• Modules are required as part of orientation and are non-billable
• Must provide two professional references, copy of driver’s license, and social security number for consideration

Requirements

• Active AL or compact state RN license, or proof of having applied for AL license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Proficiency in administering drips including cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Candidates must reside outside a 90-mile radius of the facility
• Previous permanent staff ineligible for consideration for 10 years
