Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg General Surgery/Trauma night position requiring an active NY RN license and strong Epic EMR skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting on the General Surgery/Trauma B3 unit
• Care for adult surgical and trauma patients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• 13-week contract assignment
• Epic EMR system is used and prior experience is required
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Provide skilled nursing care to surgery and trauma patients as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Competency testing modules must be completed before starting, if applicable
• Vacation or time off must be requested at time of application
• More than three call-outs during the contract may result in termination and make-up shifts are mandatory
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this assignment
• Travelers may only be considered for one position at a time

Requirements

• Active NY state RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med-Surg or General Surgery/Trauma RN experience
• Current AHA or RQI BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• U.S. Social Security Number required
• Must pass Med-Surg competency testing if less than 2 years of experience; two attempts allowed
• Medical documentation required for flu exemptions; personal or religious declinations not accepted
• Local candidates residing within Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
