Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift with travel experience, telemetry skills, and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the M/S Telemetry Unit (4W) of an acute care hospital
• Mixed telemetry patient population including pre/post cath, post stroke, Afib, and CHF exacerbation
• Patient ratios typically 1:4-5
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and major holiday required
• Floating to other Med/Surg units may occur
• Non-titratable drips: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Heparin
• Utilizes Alaris pumps, LifPak Defib monitors, Hoyer lifts, glucometers, Dynamaps, and Kangaroo pumps
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessment, medication administration, care coordination, and patient teaching
• Care for a variety of telemetry patients including those with multi-system conditions
• Testing and EKG exam required on first day, with two attempts allowed
• Scrub colors are navy blue, white, or a combination of the two
• All major holiday coverage is required
• Role requires adaptability to rapidly changing patient conditions and a multidisciplinary collaborative approach

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• At least one year of recent acute care experience required
• Minimum one year of prior travel RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Telemetry experience required
• Must pass dysrhythmia/EKG exam (study guide provided)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for consideration
