Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring an active VA or compact license and recent tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a float pool covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units within an acute care hospital
• Day shift position with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• May be required to float to different units based on facility needs
• Patient population includes med/surg and telemetry cases
• EPIC EMR experience is required and will be utilized daily
• Care for a diverse range of med/surg and telemetry patients as assigned across multiple units
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of the assignment
• Keep requests for time off (RTO) to a minimum, preferably no full calendar week and no more than 7 days total
• All requests for time off must be submitted with initial application and will not be considered after offer extension
• Local candidates are accepted at the same base rate
• Not permitted to hold both per diem and travel assignments simultaneously within the health system

Requirements

• Active RN license for VA or compact license in hand
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Completion of stroke education required
• Minimum of 1 year recent specialty experience within the last year in Med/Surg and Telemetry
• EPIC charting experience in an acute care setting is required
• Must provide a copy of Driver’s License and Social Security card for consideration
• Two professional references required, including at least one supervisory reference
• Must not have been a permanent employee within this health system within the past 6 months
