Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Massachusetts requiring a MA RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a separate recovery unit (PACU) within a hospital setting
• Care for patients across pediatric to geriatric age groups after all surgeries except transplant
• Unit has 25 beds with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Shift is 10 hours, PM (12:30 pm - 11:00 pm), 40 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within skillset as needed
• Special procedures include cardiac and neuro cases
• Uses Cerner for charting and prior Cerner experience is required
• Provide post-anesthesia care for surgery patients excluding transplant cases
• Must wear navy blue scrubs in accordance with dress code
• Testing and compliance training modules must be completed after hire
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of rotation
• Travelers can only work up to 780 hours in a 12-month period at this health system and must take a 12-month break after two assignments before returning

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of application
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Previous PACU travel experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Cerner charting system is required
• Must provide documentation for COVID and flu vaccinations; medical or religious exceptions accepted
