Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on night shift in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting, requiring Epic EMR experience and a ND or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a 10-bed Medical Surgical unit in an acute care hospital
  • Level 1 trauma setting caring for general medical-surgical patients
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 6:1 on night shift
  • Utilizes Epic EMR, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Home unit is 2W Med/Surg, but may float to any med/surg unit on any Fargo campus as needed
  • Provide nursing care for a diverse group of Med/Surg patients in a high-acuity setting
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Must wear navy blue scrubs
  • Orientation is 8 hours
  • All clinicians are required to badge in and out at the facility
  • Travelers who have previously worked for the employing health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
  • Candidates living 61 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible for a local pay rate

Requirements

  • Active ND or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Experience working in a hospital of at least 250 beds and Level 2 or higher trauma center required
  • Experience charting with Epic EMR required
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
