Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in NY requiring a current NY license, at least 5 years of experience, and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Surgical float pool within an acute care hospital setting
• Responsibilities include floating as required across Med/Surg units
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holiday shifts
• Uses Epic for charting and documentation
• Five shift cancellations per contract may occur
• Caregiver must complete a facility-required physical at candidate’s expense
• Flu vaccination required unless approved medical or religious documentation is provided 10 days prior to start
• Responsibilities include caring for patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical needs
• Holiday and weekend coverage are required per unit rotation

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• At least 2 years of current acute Med/Surg experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cannot currently reside in the following NY counties: Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, Albany
• Candidates who have worked as staff at this facility in the past year or within the AMC network in the past six months will not be considered
