Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health assignment requiring at least 1 year of Home Health or OASIS experience and active Alaska PT licensure.
Responsibilities
- Home health setting with patient care provided in patients' homes and an office located on campus
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some start time flexibility
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Average daily census is 26 patients
- Responsible for diagnoses including COPD, CHF, orthopedic procedures, and neurologic diseases
- May float to hospice within scope if needed
- Use of Epic EMR is preferred but not required
- Assignment is for 26 weeks
- Primary duties include patient evaluation, developing plan of care, and administering physical therapy treatment in the home setting
- May provide oversight and mentorship to therapy assistants, students, aides, or volunteers
- Collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team for optimal outcomes
- Documentation must be accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory standards
- Assignment located in Ketchikan, Alaska, with a mild maritime climate
- Candidates must be fully vaccinated (booster not required for consideration)
- First-time travelers accepted if they have OASIS experience
- Not open to local candidates residing within a 60-mile radius
- Candidates with more than one DUI will not be considered
- Applicants with prior employment at the facility must have a minimum one-year separation before returning
Requirements
- Current Alaska PT license required (compact PT license accepted); license required if applicable
- Minimum one year of recent Home Health or OASIS experience required
- BLS certification required
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Reliable vehicle required for community patient visits
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
