Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the Med/Surg Float Pool, working night shifts in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting with EPIC charting and weekend block scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the hospital's Resource Pool and covers all relevant Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units
• Units include Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, Oncology, Long Term Antibiotic Infusion, and Epilepsy Monitoring
• Patient ratios are 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:6 for Med/Surg/Tele units
• Each unit may have up to 34 beds
• Shifts are 12 hours, nights, with weekend block scheduling options (Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday, 7:00pm-7:30am)
• Work setting is an acute care, Level 1 trauma environment
• EPIC EMR experience is required
• Responsible for providing nursing care across multiple specialty units according to the needs of the Resource Pool
• Must be adaptable and strong across varied clinical specialties including Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, and Oncology
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• Candidates must pass required EKG testing if assigned to Stepdown units
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as scheduled
• Travel experience is preferred
• Not accepting local travelers within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are considered

Requirements

• Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact state required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in Stepdown, Med/Surg, Tele, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Oncology, or General Medicine units preferred
• Must have prior Level 1 trauma experience and Epic familiarity
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Returning employees or travelers must not have worked for any WVU Medicine location within the past 2 years
