Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active or pending NY RN license and strong emergency nursing skills.

Responsibilities

Position is in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
Patient population includes a full range of emergency cases
Uses the Epic EMR system, with experience required within the past 2 years
12-hour evening shifts, with variations to meet departmental needs
Required to work at least every other weekend
Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve
No call responsibilities
No block scheduling permitted
Main responsibilities include providing emergency nursing care to a diverse range of patients
Charge nurse experience and prior travel experience are preferred but not required
Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
Vehicle should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
First-time travelers may be considered
Local and travel candidates are accepted, with specific distance rules affecting compensation

Requirements

Active NY RN license or proof of application with applied date required for consideration
Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
Current TNCC required or proof of class completion before start date
NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to starting
Documented Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
Reliable personal or rental vehicle required due to lack of public transportation
