Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in an acute care Level 1 trauma setting, requiring an active IL RN license and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care hospital setting
• Level 1 trauma environment with a specialized cardiac patient population, including diagnoses such as STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital conditions, TAVR, MITRACLIP, and peripheral cases
• Six lab suites with an average caseload of 4-20 cases per day, typically 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Uses EPIC EMR, GE and Philips monitors, and McKesson equipment
• Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 0700-1900, including weekend and holiday rotation
• Required to take 6-8 call shifts per month, including full weekend and backup call coverage
• No floating required, but experience in IR may be considered for coverage
• Participation in Easter backup call shift as part of holiday requirements
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Department-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts
• Serve as circulator for emergent cases during backup weekend call shifts
• Work as part of a team with RN and RTR cath lab techs, with a charge nurse available as a resource
• Orientation consists of 2-3 department-specific shifts plus additional 12 non-billable orientation hours
• Must be willing to participate in both primary and backup call rotations as scheduled
• Local candidates within 50 miles are eligible to work with a different pay rate
• COVID vaccination is not required for this position
• All scrubs are provided and must be worn according to dress code

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent RN experience in a cardiac cath lab setting
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (AHA)
• Ability to read cardiac strips and titrate drips as needed
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and cardiac monitoring equipment (GE, Philips, McKesson)
• Willing to participate in a drug-free workplace and produce a negative drug screening for all panels
• No BSN required for this position
