Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 2 years of experience for a general nuclear medicine and cardiac imaging assignment; VA license or proof of application is required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based nuclear medicine department with 4 rooms and PET/CT capabilities
  • Perform general nuclear medicine studies including bones, renals, GI bleeds, thyroid, parathyroid, VQ perfusions, and EPT/CT
  • Daily caseload is 15-18 patients across adolescents to geriatric populations
  • Schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • One night of call per week and one weekend call per month, with call hours from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM weekdays and 24 hours on weekends
  • EMR is Epic Radiology CT Online
  • Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic studies
  • Prepare stock solutions and calculate doses for administration
  • Scrub color is pewter grey
  • Facility is smoke and nicotine-free
  • First-time travelers considered if highly experienced
  • Pewter grey scrubs required
  • RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of consideration; no RTO approved after offer

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • BLS certification required
  • NMTCB certification required; ARRT (N) certification preferred
  • VA license required or proof of VA license application and active license from another state
  • Proficiency in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, and use of PACS
  • Experience in general nuclear medicine and cardiac procedures including SPECT and myocardial studies
  • Ability to work independently and handle a diverse patient population
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or qualified exemption required
