Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts and telemetry skills required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient population consists of medical-surgical and telemetry cases
• Multiple shift options available, with primary schedule of three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Use of telemetry monitoring and standard hospital Med/Surg equipment
• No floating, call, or weekend requirements specified
• Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients during night shifts
• Assignments at any facility location cannot exceed 18 consecutive months and a minimum 6 month break is required before returning for another assignment
• References and documentation, including copies of driver’s license and Social Security number, must be submitted for consideration
• First time travelers are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required and must be in hand before consideration
• Minimum of 18 months permanent Med/Surg Tele experience required prior to travel assignments
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Willingness to obtain NIHSS certification prior to start
• One recent reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, director, or charge RN in Med/Surg Tele is required
• Will be required to complete ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing during orientation; must achieve acceptable scores
