Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health position requiring Virginia licensure, BLS certification, and home health experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a home health setting serving patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery
• Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with 5x8 hour shifts
• Primary patient populations include cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, and those with cognitive disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer's
• Position requires travel to patient homes with potential floating to the Wytheville area 2-3 times per week, approximately 40 miles from the main office
• Documentation is performed using Epic, with experience preferred
• Caseload includes orthopedic and cardiopulmonary cases, as well as adaptive and assistive device assessment
• Main responsibilities include patient assessment, development of care plans, and implementation of rehabilitative interventions in patient homes
• Position requires ability to float to multiple regions as needed with mileage reimbursement provided
• All requests for time off must be submitted with application
• Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Open to first-time travelers for this assignment

Requirements

• Active or pending Virginia Physical Therapy license required (may apply after offer); license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Home health experience required
• Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy required
• Demonstrated clinical skills in orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and geriatric physical therapy
• Proficiency in vital sign monitoring, adaptive and assistive device assessment, and documentation of assessments and plans of care
• Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
