Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a KY or compact license, with strong dysrhythmia and airway management experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient ratios are typically 1:3-4
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Float to different units as needed
• Care includes telemetry monitoring, management of drips, peripheral and central line care, and blood product administration
• Utilizes Epic for computerized documentation
• Administer blood products and manage isolation precautions including PPE use
• Activate rapid response team as needed
• Modules and orientation are completed during onboarding, with annual modules required
• Return staff must wait two years before being eligible to travel again
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Night shift/weekend and holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS prior to assignment)
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience with non-invasive airway and O2 protocol management
• Experience with central and peripheral line management
• Must provide two professional references for consideration
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for traveler status
