Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment in Oregon requiring EPIC and trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department (ED) of a hospital setting
- Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
- Night shifts: 3x12 hour shifts, options include 17:00-05:30 or 19:00-07:30
- Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:3-4
- Patient population includes trauma, acute stroke, STEMI, psychological emergencies, sepsis, and medically complex cases
- ED procedures include moderate and deep sedation, ultrasound, intubation, cardioversion, D&Cs, sexual assault exams, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and imminent deliveries
- Must be able to float within the hospital as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
- Responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, coordination of interventions, and management of acute and complex cases in the ED
- Must be prepared for a dynamic team environment with frequent exposure to high-acuity and trauma patients
- Weekend shifts are required as scheduled
- No on-call responsibilities
- Scrubs provided by the facility; no prints allowed
- Return staff policy requires at least 6 months break before returning as a traveler
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Maximum of one week RTO permitted; all requests must be submitted up front
- Pre-start modules must be completed prior to assignment
Requirements
- Active Oregon RN license required; pending license considered with application submitted to board
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
- Prior trauma and Epic experience required for consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination proof required; exemptions not accepted
- Two recent supervisor references from the last 24 months required
- No prior background or license issues accepted
- Travelers must not be first-time travelers; at least 1 year of travel experience with recent Epic use required
