Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit working nights, caring for both adult and pediatric patients, with an AZ or compact RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a 20-bed Med/Surg unit serving adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 4:1 (max 5:1) for non-COVID patients, and 2:1 (max 3:1) for COVID patients
• 12-hour night shifts with a rotating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Candidates must be flexible and willing to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Up to one on-call shift per week may be required
• May float to other departments within scope of competence
• Travelers may be assigned to flu immunization clinics and are expected to attend staff meetings
• New employee orientation is held on Mondays only
• Travelers are expected to float and assist in other departments or with task-oriented duties as needed
• Candidates must be open to covering flu immunization clinics if assigned
• Maximum of two shift call-offs allowed during the assignment

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact state RN license required
• Minimum of 3 years Med/Surg experience and at least 1 year pediatric Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• Comfortable and clinically competent in caring for both adult and pediatric populations
