Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in an acute care setting requiring a CA RN license and strong cardiac procedural experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care hospital
• Day shifts, Monday through Friday, typically 8 hours (usually 0930-1800) with flexibility for start and end times based on case scheduling
• Currently operates one cath lab, with expansion to two labs planned
• Caseload varies from 0 to 5-6 cases per day
• Procedures include PCIs, peripherals, diagnostic caths, nephrostomy tubes, and IVC filters
• All STEMI cases are sent to a nearby facility
• Cerner is used for electronic charting, along with Sensis and Merge systems
• RNs are required to circulate; scrubbing is performed by Cath Lab Techs
• RNs in this role are responsible for circulating during cath lab procedures and may be involved in training new staff
• Candidates will complete required Myjourney modules during orientation
• No on-call responsibilities currently required
• Scrub attire must follow facility guidelines
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by CHI, Dignity, or CommonSpirit facilities in the past year
• Relias Dysrhythmia exam must be passed prior to offer for facilities in Sacramento region, CA
• Pass/fail sterile technique testing for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes during orientation
• First time travelers are eligible for this role

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent Cath Lab RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with cardiac procedures, balloon pumps, and STEMI preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner, Sensis, and Merge charting systems preferred
• Must provide a copy of driver's license
• Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
