Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring CRRT and IABP experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2 or more
• Travelers may be required to float to different units
• EPIC is used for computerized documentation and experience is required
• Patients may require advanced support including management with CRRT, IABP, ventilators, and IV vasopressors
• Responsibilities include advanced care of critically ill patients, titration of drips, managing isolation precautions, and responding to rapid changes in patient condition
• Orientation includes completion of specialty-specific modules, which are also completed annually
• All onboarding training is logged via transcripts
• Return staff must wait 2 years before being eligible to travel again
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination status may be required per hospital policy
• Facility has a strict do-not-call policy

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Experience with CRRT and IABP required
• Experience with airway and vented patient management, central lines, continuous IV sedation, titration of IV vasopressors, and interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias is required
• Experience with management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience charting with EPIC required
• Must reside 75 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Two professional references required for consideration
• First time travelers are accepted
