Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in various intensive care units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• Mandatory float between multiple ICU units and, if needed, to MS units; floating may occur across facilities within 50 miles with notice as little as 2 hours prior to shift
• Uses Cerner for charting; prior experience with Cerner preferred
• Orientation and precepting shift will occur during the first week on day shift
• Team-based model utilized when floating outside of primary area of competency
• Must wear navy blue scrubs, which are not provided
• Strict compliance with documentation deadlines and lab work completion within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• No block scheduling or special requests; scheduling strictly adheres to facility guidelines
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekend or holiday RTO, and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
• Failure to comply with floating or scheduled shifts may result in contract cancellation
• First week will include orientation and precepting on the day shift

Requirements

• Active, non-pending IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility for consideration
