Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in the Birth Center requiring LDRP experience and certification in BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Birth Center of a hospital setting
• 15-week contract assignment with 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend rotation
• Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 8 postpartum/antepartum beds, 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 ORs, and a 6-bed level II NICU
• Responsibilities include antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum care, and baby catching/receiving
• Circulating for C-sections is required, and scrub experience is preferred
• Requires use of Epic EMR
• Scrubs in teal color are provided
• Unit provides care to a diverse population including Russian and Spanish-speaking families; multilingual skills are preferred
• No call required for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• NP support is available on call

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of total L&D experience with at least 1 year in LDRP
• Current BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications required
• Ability to perform cervical exams, amnio infusions, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, and Pitocin administration
• Experience with all aspects of postpartum care from transition to discharge
• Ability to circulate C-sections and perform baby catching/receiving
• Knowledge of APGAR and breastfeeding support
