Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a CA license and critical care certifications for a night shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU/CCU department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00 - 07:30)
• Patient population includes critical and multi-system organ failure cases
• Potential to float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units as needed
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• 8-week contract with option to extend
• Responsibilities include management of critically ill patients, including those with CVA/acute stroke, renal failure, and requiring advanced monitoring and support
• Must be able to assist with chest tube insertion/removal, procedural sedation administration, and emergency medications
• Care for ventilated and post-surgical patients is required
• Pre-assignment completion of required specialty modules is mandatory
• RTO cannot be taken within the first two weeks and is capped at three days during the contract
• Holiday coverage is required
• Dress code and further orientation details to be provided prior to start
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with FloTrac/Vigileo, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Experience with ventilator management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, and hypothermia protocols
• Ability to manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, start IVs, and administer cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Skill in phlebotomy and wound care including wound vacs and surgical wounds
• Competency in infection prevention and isolation precautions
• References from professional supervisors within the past 2 years are required
