Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a WA or compact license and current advanced certifications for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department at a Critical Access Hospital with 11 beds and 1 trauma bay
• Serves an average of 35 patients per day with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shifts are 7p-7:30a with occasional flex to 3p-3a for one shift every two weeks
• Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required
• Primary assignment at one facility with floating required throughout designated Region II hospitals as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system; prior experience with Epic is beneficial
• Vents used: PB980s
• Phlebotomists draw labs and IV team available during business hours; RT staff onsite 24/7
• Must provide care for a broad spectrum of emergency conditions in a fast-paced environment
• Charge nurse onsite; no nurse aides or paramedics routinely present
• 24/7 ED physician or mid-level provider coverage is provided
• House resource nurse and St. Francis Hospital pharmacy cover after hours
• Specific orientation is provided for the unit
• First to float among Region II facilities as needed
• Candidates may not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year, unless employed PRN through an outside agency

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either PALS or ENPC
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years
• Copy of valid driver's license required for consideration
