Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring a VA or compact license, CRRT experience, and advanced cardiac skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a Level II Trauma Center
- Patient population includes trauma patients, CV surgery patients such as TAVR and CABG post-OR, neurosurgery patients, and complex post-surgical cases
- Ratios are typically 1:2-3; may be 1:3-4 if floating to step down
- CRRT, Impella, IABP, and EVD Drain devices commonly used; CRRT is mandatory
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and arterial lines required
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00), every other weekend required
- EPIC EMR is used
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No travel pairs allowed on this unit
- Care for patients with critical diagnoses such as acute ventilator needs, COVID+ with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma, post-operative open heart, TAVR recovery, post-code blue, and multi-system organ failure
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No on-call required
- Block schedules are not accommodated
- No holiday time off (RTO) will be approved
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO requests are at manager's discretion
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license
- Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU or similar critical care experience required
- Experience with CRRT required and at least one of the following: Impella, IABP, or EVD Drain
- Competence in dysrhythmia management, arterial lines, and blood product administration
