Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a CVICU RN with CRRT experience and a VA or compact RN license for a Level II Trauma Center assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Level II trauma short-term acute care facility
- Patient care includes trauma, cardiovascular surgeries such as TAVR and CABG, neurosurgery, and critical surgical cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2-3 in CVICU and 1:3-4 when floating to stepdown units
- Use advanced devices and procedures including CRRT (Prismax), IABP, Impella, and EVD drains
- Epic is used for charting; experience preferred
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to other units is required
- Day shifts are 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- No travel pairs allowed
- Patient diagnoses include acute ventilator needs, high O2 demand in COVID+ patients, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma, open heart recovery, post-code blue, and multisystem organ failure
- Team supports a diverse acuity population with advanced cardiac and critical care therapies
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- No block scheduling is offered
- Holiday requests for time off will not be approved
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are welcome to apply
- Requested time off is at the manager’s discretion
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU nursing experience
- Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- CRRT experience is mandatory and proficiency in at least one of the following: IABP, Impella, or EVD drain management
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial lines, and perform blood product administration
