Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an adult outpatient setting with at least 1 year of outpatient experience and a GA OT license.

Responsibilities

  • Adult and geriatric patient population in an outpatient rehabilitation facility
  • Typical diagnoses include stroke, orthopedic (shoulder, hands, upper extremity), MS, TBI, and Guillain-Barré
  • 1:1 patient ratio for individualized care
  • Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Possible floating within the facility, though rare
  • Epic EMR usage required with additional systems SBAR, Outlook Email, and Secure Chat
  • No weekend or call requirements
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Must be fully compliance cleared before starting; bi-weekly orientation schedules may result in delayed start if not compliant
  • Travelers may be reviewed by a clinical team for fit prior to manager review
  • Return travelers/perm/PRN must be away from all Piedmont facilities for 1 full year before returning as a traveler
  • If unable to return to one facility, a traveler must complete a successful assignment outside the system before rebooking elsewhere
  • No travel pairs will be assigned the same shift on the same unit
  • No blocked scheduling permitted
  • Maximum 7 days of time-off allowed, with none permitted in the first week of the assignment
  • Travelers are expected to work holidays based on their assignment duration following specific holiday rules
  • Dress code is black scrubs or business casual attire accepted
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

  • Current GA Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient OT experience
  • Experience with evaluation, discharge planning, reassessment, patient/family education, adaptive equipment, and pre-discharge planning
  • Physical ability for lifting and transfer of patients
